Proverbs 2:1-6 (New King James Version)
1 My son, if you receive my words,
And treasure my commands within you,
2 So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
And apply your heart to understanding;
3 Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding,
4 If you seek her as silver,
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
5 Then you will understand the fear of the LORD,
And find the knowledge of God.
6 For the LORD gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
This is the reason for the Deliberate People mission (in my life). Crying out to God for discernment, wisdom and understanding. If i don’t do this nothing will happen. I am in a relationship with God and he requires my attention to Him and His word. I want my life to reflect God’s Word and in order for that to happen i need to seek after His Word. Understand it with His guidance. Being in a relationship with God is just like being in a relationship with my wife: i need to be an active contributor to our marriage (or in God’s case, to our relationship). Without my active participation my marriage would more likely faith, or at least be miserable. I do not want that with my wife, nor do i want that with God. Lord, i want to have a deep understanding of your word. God i need you. i cannot do this on my own, and i admit to trying to do so. guide me though your word as we meet here, together, on a daily basis.
