This Little Light of Mine

thislittlelight Psalm 34:5,9 (New International Version)

5 Those who look to him are radiant;
       their faces are never covered with shame.

9 Fear the LORD, you his saints,
       for those who fear him lack nothing.

Both of these verses are excellent reminders of the power of God.  If we are seeking after Him and following His ways, we should not be ashamed, our faces, our spirit, should be radiant with His light!

Sometimes, though, we are not so radiant, sometimes we hide our light on purpose so we are not ridiculed or looking down upon by those around us.  Why do we do that?  Who is the world to judge us when we have the ONE TRUE GOD in our hearts?

Never hide your light! Never forget who you are in Christ!  He has the power to protect us and give us strength, even when we don’t think it is possible; He has the power to provide for those who fear Him, who trust in Him for all things.

Audience Of One

ist2_2231611_go_team.jpgPsalm 27:1 (New International Version)

1 The LORD is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?

The Answer? No one.

Just God, and God alone.

If i made this a priority in my life I’m sure it would be a lot better. Actually, i know it would. If i only every worried about pleasing God imagine all of the pressure that is taken off of living life. Instead of performing for, or pleasing, a group of people (the world), I just need to be worried about pleasing God because he is my “light and salvation… [and] the stronghold of my life.” No one else in the world gives me these things, just God.

Make God your only audience and you will notice a ripple affect through every area of your life.
