Placed With Care

One thing that I know for a fact is that God does not put us places, or in circumstances, without having something in mind.  There is always a reason for us being where we are.  I have believed this every since the summer of 2004 when I made a huge mistake.  Ever since that time in my life I have taken a closer look at where I am at currently and I always ask God, “What do you have in mind for me this time?” because I know that He has a reason for it.  Always, without fail.

Its good to ask yourself questions like that, ask God too.  Why are you where you are now? What purpose are you serving? How can God use you where you are at? If you can’t think of anything, then ask God to help you out, he’ll show you, believe me!

God is always with purpose, everything He does has one.  Without purpose, what’s the point? There is none.  By finding why you are where you are, you will not only understand yourself (and God) a little more, but you will be equipped with the knowledge to make a difference.  No matter what the reason is, what the circumstance is, you can make a difference. Not everyone around you is going to know your purpose, or even their own, so once you know what it is, it is up to you to use that knowledge (and use it wisely!).

When you have been equipped with a purpose you will look at your “world” in an entire different light.  You will have direction, even if it is for a short period of time, and you will have some idea of where you are going, to what end you are doing things for.

Take some time to examine where you are at right now in your life.  Question each place, each event, and put a purpose behind it.  If you can’t figure it out, ask God.

In the Hands of God

Psalm 37:7a,8b (New King James Version)

7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him;…Do not fret—it only causes harm.

God is my refuge, my strength, my comforter.

In the world’s eyes I should be frightened about how this is going to work out. In my case right now, which job am I going to get. I am waiting patiently, on Him to do His work, and because of that I am not scared. Why should I be? I am in the hand’s of God, of my Creator who loves me! No reason to be scared when that is where I am. If I wasn’t with God and didn’t trust in Him, I would be scared out of my mind!

Thank fully, I am not; I have no reason to be.

The Lord is my provider and protector.

The Perfect Place To Wait

parkbench.jpgPsalm 27:14 (New International Version)

14 Wait for the LORD;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the LORD.

Again, God does not cease to encourage me!

Right now my wife and I are at a cross road in our young lives (as mentioned before) and we could be very, very, very worried and stressed out about the situation. But, by the grace of God we are not. We are both trusting in the Lord and are waiting on Him. Waiting with eager anticipation of how He is going to work this all out. We know He will and we know it is all in His timing, not ours.

Wait on the Lord, trust in Him, go according to HIS plan and you will not be sorry, “He shall strengthen your heart!”

Audience Of One

ist2_2231611_go_team.jpgPsalm 27:1 (New International Version)

1 The LORD is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?

The Answer? No one.

Just God, and God alone.

If i made this a priority in my life I’m sure it would be a lot better. Actually, i know it would. If i only every worried about pleasing God imagine all of the pressure that is taken off of living life. Instead of performing for, or pleasing, a group of people (the world), I just need to be worried about pleasing God because he is my “light and salvation… [and] the stronghold of my life.” No one else in the world gives me these things, just God.

Make God your only audience and you will notice a ripple affect through every area of your life.

Let God Work

Exodus 4:10-12 (New International Version)

10 Moses said to the LORD, “O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”

11 The LORD said to him, “Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD ? 12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”

This is exactly how i feel sometimes, “God, why me? I can’t do this!”, and i always ending up doing it, whatever ‘it’ is, and doing it well. I have been in so many different situations in my life so far, in so many different levels of leadership where i have felt inadequate, or not worthy of something. I can remember being worried about the turnout of an event or how i would sound during a certain speech and always saying a silent prayer to God before hand for His protection and His will to be done through me.

I can see the point Moses is trying to make in the passage above, but God’s point is much better (obviously!), “I will be with your mouth and teach you what to say.” God will do it. Moses is simply a tool for God to use in order to do what He wants done on earth. This is something that we all need to realize on a regular basis! God is in control…He is working through us to achieve His will. No matter how much we resist, if it is in His plan He is going to do it. That is why we need not worry (as much as we do). Like i have said before, giving up control of every area of our lives is the best thing, the best decision, that we could ever do/make. Not only will a peace come over us knowing that God is in control, but we will begin to notice His plan take shape in our lives.

When we move out of the way, GOD is able to do His best work in us.
