Faith To Move Mountains, To Change Your Life

The Fig Tree Withers

18Early in the morning, as he was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. 19Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered. 20When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” they asked.

21Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. 22If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

Is God trying to get me to understand this point, or what? I feel like in every passage i read, i see the importance of faith. Faith that does not waver, faith that does not doubt. “If you believe…” That’s the key. I believe that God is going to provide, that he is going to open the right doors and close the wrong ones. I believe that if i spend time with Him daily and read His Word that my life will be changed! I believe that Christ died for me and my sins and that He has saved a place for me with Him in Heaven.

I am reminded of a Grits song titled “[what do you] Believe”. That is a good question to ask yourself every once and a while.

So, what do you believe?
